There is a man who prays very hard each night. at the end of his prayer, he always asks God to do what is best for him. but somehow, things don't seem to workout in his life. he cannot understand why God does not answer his prayers. one day, an angel appears before him. "i have a gift for you," says the angel. the man is overjoyed. the angel asks the man to open his palms. the man does so as though he is about to accept an offering. the angel looks at the man's palms and blows on them. "you're welcome," says the angel. the man is confused because his palms are still empty. "but where's my gift?" he asks. "it has already been given to you," says the angel. "your hands were full of doubt. i removed all doubt. sometimes something that is taken away from you is a greater gift than something that is given to you."
